Government of Georgia / British Embassy Tbilisi
Georgia is a small but strategically important country bounded by Russia to the North and Turkey to the south.
As an emerging democracy with publicly stated Euro/Atlantic ambitions to join NATO and the European Union, supporting the Government of Georgia to better communicate to its citizens became a priority for the British Embassy in Tbilisi.
Commissioned by British Ambassador Alexandra Hall-Hall, David conducted a comprehensive review of the structures, operations and capabilities of the Georgian Government’s public communications.
Taking place through multiple visits to Tbilisi over a 12 month period, David’s recommendations provided the template for a modernisation programme adopted through all parts of the government.
David returned to Tbilisi on several further occasions, including to accept the Prime Minister’s invitation to address the Cabinet of Georgia on principles of effective communications and to media train key figures.
